Lancaster Mission Scene Map

1) Incoming Bomber Stream (sometimes comprised of over 1000 aircraft)

2) Bombers begin turn after releasing their bomb load

3) Enemy Fighter (ME110) begins to drop flares to illuminate the area for other fighters

4) Flak burst - flak was heavy over the target area - enemy fighters wait outside the target area to avoid their own guns

5) Aircraft that strayed outside the bomber stream were tracked by radar and shot down

6) Master searchlights were blue in color and guided by radar, white lights followed

7) ME110 night fighters waiting on the far side of the target area

8) Neil's gunners giving it their best effort

9) An unlucky Lancaster is struck by flak and loses a wing

10) "Fearless Freddie's Office" exits the target area in a full power dive
